Last day of painting! Thank goodness.
Last day of looking gross and wearing stuff that makes me look absolutely awful.
The library was almost finished, we just needed to bring in the cushions and of course the books...
We arrived back home to find that there was no electricity and no water. I know we're being oathetic and we shouldn't expect to be living in luxury, but it was really frustrating having nothing to do.
The powercuts we were told were a 24 hour thing (so until 6pm) and ditto the next day.
The electricity was back on in the evening...still no water though.

No water and no electricity again, we decided to take it easy for a while before heading out for lunch in town (at the Walkgard Annexe). The Walkgard Annexe served the same food as the Walkgard just not as good quality and we had to wait even longer for it.
Monday was an even less productive day as we spent the whole day searching for banks where we could take out dollars with the minimum charge. Everywhere we asked couldn't understand us or simply referred us to the ATMs where we had the withdrawal charges. Grrrh.
We wondered how on earth we would pay for our Safari. In the afternoon, Mica and I walked up the hill and visited some of the children there.

Today was a lovely day. The sun came out and we'd arranged to go and visit an orphanage in the centre of town. I had thought it would just be me, but Sarah and Mica both wanted to come as well.
We had a lovely time at the orphanage, and felt incredibly vakyed and were so happy to have gone. The staff really appreciated the food gifts we brought them.
We met up with the others in the afternoon who had been planning the opening ceremony. It seemed a bit o.t.t. particularly as the books hadn't arrived yet.

What a day! We were told that the books would be arriving in the evening and a thank you lunch at Kibeta School.
It was wonderful to hear their gratitude and to really speak with the staff, knowing that the library was to be such a success.
I sat with a student teacher and his background was fascinating. He either wants to go into music or politics and his history teaching qualification is a step in that direction.
I am feeling more and more drawn to politics at the moment and am really keen in considering taking up an internship that was offered to me by the Lib Dems and Vince Cable...decisions.

We had to tell Lydia that they may not arrive for the party and face her disappointment.
After the previous day it was the most gutting feeling.
We were really planning our attack for when one of the Read representatives arrived to check on the progress.
We were all feeling very low, demoralised and demotivated.
I am completely regretting my decision to come here.
