Day 3 - Vancouver to Kelowna

So I'm a bit behind posting these blogs, largely due to having a nice time socialising with the people who I'm with on this trip, and also due to the lateness we've arrived each evening, but also due to the lack of wifi in a couple of places.

This is the first of my five day booked tour around the Rockies (although we don't actually enter the Rockies until late tomorrow, and that's a whole new timezone - quite a lot of driving to do before we get there, including passing various other mountain ranges!).

Our tour driver is called David, and he's actually from Hong Kong, but went to school in England, so has a very British sense of humour.

Our first stop was a place, not far from Vancouver, called Bridal Veil falls. The falls are actually taller than the Niagara Falls! From the photo, I think it's pretty clear why it's got its name!

We then made our way through the Coastal Mountains to a place called Lightning Lake, which is a popular area for hiking and camping (although seemed pretty quiet today), where we stopped for lunch.

It was a nice scenic spot, to break up what was a long, but beautiful journey.

We've been told that today and tomorrow will be a lot of driving, although everywhere you look it's pretty stunning.

Late afternoon we arrived at Lake Okanagan, where we were meant to be doing some free paddleboarding. People were there kite surfing, but unfortunately the weather wasn't suitable for our activity - apparently Canada's equivalent of the Loch Ness monster the 'Ogopogo' had been awoken :(
Afterwards we headed off to our hostel for the night where we had a free pizza dinner.
