We arrived at Kibeta School to find the whole school very busy.
Apparently they were hurridely preparing for an inspection on Monday.
Everything had to be cleared from the storage room and we couldn't paint in the room as we'd planned.
We moved all the furniture out in the grounds and painted outside, but it was a difficult job with very limited space.
Time was not on our side as we couldn't move the furniture on our own and school finished at 12 so we were required to move all the desks back into the library room by 12, finished or not.
I think most of them were done.
In
the afternoon we arranged a recording session on the radio to promote
our library opening ceremony as well as to promote Read International. This was not at all what we expected as William owned the radio station (surprise surprise) and made a long speech in Swahili. We then spent a little while chatting to the DJs and then they got wind of the fact that I studied music and kept asking questions about what inspired me and what songs I'd written. It resulted in me singing Optical Illusion on the radio live! How embarrassing
I wasn't warmed up or ready. A shocking performance.
William
took us around to visit the radio studio then took us to his beach
office (as part of the deal) where we would be featuring in an up and
coming music star's music DVD.We were featured on the back of bicycles and then in the back of William's jeep dancing.
Again, ridiculously embarrassing, but at least we got free drinks.
The worst part was we looked terrible - really greasy as we'd not showered properly and were covered in paint.
At the end of a random day we settled down to a relaxing evening.
